Casual Tuesday — Only Bet On Yourself Edition
August 5th, 2008 Features

While we begged and pleaded our esteemed colleagues to write yesterday’s Casual Monday feature, clearly the day passed without so much as a peep from us regarding free games for you to enjoy. Thusly, we have come to the should have been obvious realization: the only real motivating factor is money. Except for the people that make these Casual Monday Tuesday releases, that is! This week we’re bringing you somewhat of a marketing tool for the upcoming PS3 release The Last Guy, in the form of it’s Japanese website. Hit the bump for details.

The Last Guy is a game we’re most certainly interested in, what with it’s co-opting of the Earth for use as game levels. Set to release for Sony’s Playstation Network “soon”, the game sets you up as a survivor after the Earth is hit by “a mysterious purple ray” and those exposed to said ray became zombies. You are tasked with rescuing survivors and keeping them away from the brain-hungry zombies — simple enough, no? What the game’s Japanese website does is allow you to input any URL you’d like (Quarterplay.com, for instance?), and play a miniature version of the full game, only with the background of websites. The controls, as they aren’t shown to you in the game itself, are listed below (and sourced from the MTV Multiplayer blog). Now go save some humans (or become food, whichever).
