Never ones to turn down an opportunity to profit where the first-party console makers haven’t, Nyko Techonologies today announced plans for a USB-powered Playstation 3 hub that will add the two missing USB slots to the 40GB model and a media card reader that supports both SD cards and Memory Sticks (read as “Sony Pro-Duo Memory Sticks” — the PSP ones.)
Considering Nyko’s recent releases, we’re inclined to say this is worth your dough. Hitting stores this August, the Nyko MediaHUB will retail for $19.99 — a low price considering the difference between PS3 SKUs, economically speaking. All they need to do now is add 20-40GB of memory and backwards compatibility to that mid-level PS3 and we’re ready to go! We will of course be bringing you all of Nyko’s offerings from this years E3 in just a few weeks on our Summer 2008 page. Also, there’s a gallery of pics below for your perusal/approval.
