E3 2008: Flower Hands-On
July 28th, 2008 Previews, Summer 08

With all the complex and wanna-be cerebral games flooding E3, Flower was a nice change of pace. The PSN game puts the gamer in control of the wind, using the SIXAXIS controller to blow a stream of flower petals through a dull landscape, gradually bringing color to the world as you blow through patterns of flowers.

It might sound silly and boring, but the game was oddly entrancing and relaxing. The soft sounds of gentle wind and simple musical chimes draw you in, and with the excellent use of the SIXAXIS motion control, you can’t help but get lost in it. It looks like it will be an excellent game to ease your mind and your senses in between all the chaotic shooters and sprawling action games that are being released (like predecessor fLOw was, released last year from That Game Company also for PSN). You’ll be able to take a trip with Flower “When it’s done.”, as it’s a game with one of those release dates.
