Attention Philadelphia! Have you heard of videogames ? Are you aware that if you are good at these videogames you can make cash? Are you also aware you can increase the size of your bust, or manhood, through unrelenting sh*t-talk? If you answered ‘Yes’ to any or all of these questions then Philly Gamers wants you to join in on the fun. Tourney’s include Halo 3, Smash Brothers Brawl, Guitar Hero and more. Hit the break for a full explanation.
Philly Gamers is holding tournament events throughout the summer in Drexel Hill, just outside Philadelphia (about two miles west of Upper Darby). The exact address is 323 Edmonds Ave Drexel Hill, PA 19026 at the Garrettford-Drexel Fire Department and can be found here.
Mark your calendars! The events and dates are as follows:
July 6th- Earn Your Independence
July 20th- Philly Gamers Genesis
Aug 9th- East Coast Assault
Aug 23rd- Throwdown
Sept 13th- Proving Grounds
Sept 27th- Fall Brawl
The tourney’s are divided into four sections: shooters, music and rhythm, fighters, and sports (though no sports for the summer schedule, gomenen ). Here’s a breakdown of the games:
Halo 3: 2v2 with a maximum of 16 teams. The entry fee is $60 and the purse is $480.
Guitar Hero 3: $30 per player with a maximum of 16 players. The purse is $240.
Fighters require a $10 venue fee and $10 for each entry. This summer Philly Gamers will be running:
Super Smash Brothers Brawl: 40 players maximum and $400 purse.
Guilty Gear: Accent Core: 16 players maximum and $160 purse.
Melty Blood: 16 players maximum and $160 purse.
Cash prizes are split 70%, 20%, 10%, so aim for the head. Other prizes include 5H Headphones with an Xbox adapter, Glitch Gear T-Shirts, and a mystery Best Buy prize. I’ve been told it is not a gift card, and that you will feel like a ‘kid on Christmas’ if you win a Best Buy sponsored bracket.
They have the framework but do they have the infrastructure? You bet. Halo 3 runs on eight Xbox 360’s and 22″ flatscreen HDMI monitors running at 1080p which are, of course, lag free. An HD projector and 108″ screen will feature some other games they have running, as well as a variety of equipment to fully compliment the rest of the titles. All events are monitored by designated referees, scorekeepers, and eagle-eyes watching for any funny business because, as you know, funny business does not translate into fun business. Call today! This offer is only valid for the next 40 seconds!
