Ahh yes, the ubiquitous Nintendo DS bundle, how could we forget thee? Available day and date (June 22nd) with Guitar Hero: On Tour is the “Special Edition” Guitar Hero Metallic Silver Black DS/game bundle. If you were wondering aloud while reading this, “But I’m an aspiring axe shredder and I want to shred the first possible moment I can. Will I be able to shred from day one and reach platinum success?” You’ll have to hit the bump to find out!
Activision’s got you covered:
“Most musicians dream of one day reaching platinum success. [The] new Nintendo DS bundle lets aspiring axe shredders claim that coveted status right from day one.”
Beware though, loyal QP reader: the picture above is no fake. There really is a little flaming Guitar Hero logo on the front of that DS — forever. Just in case you forgot, forever’s a long time. The box you see above includes the two-tone DS Lite itself, Guitar Hero: On Tour, a “Guitar Grip” (read as: peripheral fret piece) and a pick stylus (yes, that’s right, a stylus in the shape of a pick.) All in all, the whole schebang will run you $180 USD — roughly par for the course given the game by itself runs $49.99 MSRP and a DS Lite all by its lonesome (minus the flaming logo, might we add…) will cost you $129.99 MSRP. So, wait, what’s the incentive to buy the whole pack again? Oh, right, “Special Edition.” Right…
