Alright, we’ll admit it. Casual Monday suffered this week due to, well, a hell of a lot of things. Our burdens are not yours though, and we apologize greatly for ruining your entire week. That being said, we still have a ridiculous free game for you, albeit a bit derivative of something we may or may not have obsessed over for a long while. Armor Games brings you Epsilon, via Kongregate.com. Hit the bump for our impressions.

The picture above does little to visually explain the point of Epsilon. Though woven together by a ridiculous story regarding the future of humanity (and in fairness, presented with the utmost care for detail), Epsilon is essentially a game about portals and physics. There are items to collect, there are places portals cannot be put, there’s even a function for reversing time — all with the intention of guiding your little ball to it’s eventual destination: the portal.
The game plays a lot like a 2D mashup of the much-lauded Portal and PSP launch title Mercury. Though your ball isn’t exactly made of partially sticky liquid and you’re not being heckled by an A.I. gone crazy, between the physics-based puzzles using portals and having to activate the end portal by rounding up checkpoints first, our comparison starts making more sense. But hey, don’t listen to us — go try it yourself! What do you think the point of this is anyway? Jeeeez!
Oh, and next week it’ll be up by Monday…promise.
